Sweet peppers add excitement to any dish. You can fry, roast stuff or grill them, or simply chop and add to salads.
How to grow Sweet peppers Sow in spring in a propagator on a windowsill or in a greenhouse at 18-21°C using good quality seed compost. Cover seeds with 6mm of compost (Germination approx 10-21 days). Transplant seedlings singly into 75mm pots. Transplant into large pots, grow bags or greenhouse border when the first flowers have opened. Allow 45cm between plants. Support plants with canes and string as fruit develops. Feed regularly. Harvesting : Peppers are ripe when they turn the colour expected for the variety you have chosen. As a very general rule you can expect sweet peppers to ripen 120 days or so after the seeds are sown, but this does vary by variety.
