How to grow Spinach Sow seeds spring - summer outdoors, dependent on variety. Sow thinly, 1cm deep in drills, 30cm apart. Can be sown under cloches or frames in early autumn. Thin to 5cm apart when large enough to handle, thinnings are suitable for use in salads, Harvest as required, picking only a few from each plant. Ideal for successional sowing.
